Intentsly vs PhantomBuster: Automation Toolkit or AI SDR?
PhantomBuster is a toolkit of 130+ automations you assemble and operate; Intentsly watches LinkedIn signals, scores the people and lets an AI SDR run the conversation. This page takes PhantomBuster's side of the table from phantombuster.com, opened today, and says where each is the wrong buy.
Intentsly vs PhantomBuster is a choice between a service and a toolkit. PhantomBuster gives you 130-plus automations for LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Google Maps, Instagram, X and Facebook, which you chain, schedule and watch yourself; it suits a team that wants to build its own prospecting machine. Intentsly watches LinkedIn for buying signals, scores each person against your ideal customer profile, and its AI SDR sends the messages, answers the replies and books the meeting. Pick PhantomBuster to build; pick Intentsly to have the LinkedIn conversation run for you.
Everything about PhantomBuster below comes from phantombuster.com, opened on 27 October 2026, with a link on each claim. Everything about Intentsly comes from what the product does today, limits included. If you are here because you track who engages with competitor posts and want the manual version first, the four methods for scraping LinkedIn post likers and commenters cover PhantomBuster as one of them; this page compares the two products in depth.

Where is PhantomBuster the better choice?
PhantomBuster does many things Intentsly does not attempt. If any of these is why you are shopping, Intentsly is the wrong pick.
You prospect outside LinkedIn. PhantomBuster's own guide lists LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Google Maps, Instagram, X and Facebook as sources, with automations for each (prospecting guide). Intentsly watches LinkedIn only. A local-services agency pulling Google Maps listings, or a brand reaching Instagram creators, has no use for Intentsly.
You want to build the workflow yourself. PhantomBuster is a library of single-task automations you chain into custom sequences with conditional paths, plus pre-built workflows for common jobs (prospecting guide). Intentsly gives you a fixed set of LinkedIn signal types and runs them; there is no builder.
You export Sales Navigator searches. Turning a saved Sales Navigator search into a prospect list is a core PhantomBuster job: paste the search URL, connect your session, run (data extraction guide). Intentsly finds people from live behaviour, not from a search you define, so it cannot replace a search export.
Your data lives in Google Sheets, Salesforce or Pipedrive. PhantomBuster moves results to Google Sheets in both directions, pushes accounts and contacts to Salesforce and Pipedrive one way, syncs HubSpot two ways, and connects to Zapier and Make (integrations post). Intentsly integrates natively with HubSpot, Cal.com, Google Calendar and LinkedIn, and supports export; it lists no Sheets, Salesforce or Pipedrive connection and no API.
You run many LinkedIn accounts. PhantomBuster's guide says a workspace can hold up to 100 LinkedIn accounts and rotate up to four in one running automation (prospecting guide). Intentsly is built around two.
You want a free tier. PhantomBuster has a free plan with 30 minutes of execution a month and one slot, and a 14-day trial with no card (pricing explainer). Intentsly's trial is 7 days; the free part is /try-ai, which shows matching buyers without an account but is a preview, not a plan.
Where is Intentsly the better choice?
The lead gets an answer without you. This is the row that PhantomBuster's own comparison pages route around. In PhantomBuster, a reply is something you handle: its HeyReach comparison says you can connect n8n or Zapier to watch the inbox and pause a sequence, or filter replied contacts out of the next input list manually (PhantomBuster vs HeyReach). In Intentsly, the AI SDR holds the LinkedIn conversation in your place and sends your Cal.com or Google Calendar link so the lead books the meeting. If your inbox is the bottleneck, this is the difference to weigh.
We ran this on ourselves at launch: our own signals and AI SDR, targeting founders who posted about cold outreach burnout, booked 14 qualified demos in 14 days with zero manual outreach, and the reply rate was 4x our previous cold campaigns. Most of those leads came from signals caught in real time rather than from a list.
The signals run without a launch. PhantomBuster's model is that you define a signal and launch an automation against a post, a search or an event, and its own Trigify comparison notes it does not provide live alerts for profile updates (PhantomBuster vs Trigify). Intentsly monitors competitor and industry-leader posts, keyword posts, competitor pages and hashtags continuously and scores whoever shows up. When you would otherwise be launching the post-engager automation every morning, LinkedIn signals is the feature that does that step for you. If you want to know which signals are worth the chase before you set any of this up, the free Buying Signal Playbook lists 12 worth chasing and 8 to ignore at /signal-playbook.
No hours, slots or credits to budget. PhantomBuster meters execution time, automation slots and credits for email, AI and URL finding, with credits resetting monthly and no mid-cycle top-up for hours or slots (pricing explainer). Fair for a toolkit, and it means someone on your team owns the meter. Intentsly's only limits are the LinkedIn caps below.
A ceiling with a number on it. Intentsly caps each account at 30 messages and 30 connection requests a day and recommends 15. PhantomBuster leaves the cap to you and publishes ranges it calls "risk-aware ranges, not official platform limits": 15 to 25 connection requests and 40 to 80 messages a day for aged accounts (safe limits post). Both say the same thing underneath: LinkedIn decides, and third-party automation "isn't risk-free or fully compliant with LinkedIn's Terms of Service", in PhantomBuster's own words (safety post). The difference is who sets the number.
Four outreach languages. Intentsly monitors and writes in English, Romanian, German and Dutch. PhantomBuster's pages opened today do not state supported languages for its AI drafting, so ask before you assume either way.
You can see your buyers before you sign up. /try-ai shows people matching your profile who are engaging on LinkedIn right now, with no account. PhantomBuster's trial is longer, at 14 days, but its exports are capped at 10 rows until you pay (pricing explainer), so you see the shape of a list rather than the list.
What does each tool cost?
PhantomBuster's pricing page is an app that renders in the browser, so the figures here come from its own pricing explainer on phantombuster.com, updated 21 July 2026 and stating its numbers "as of July 2026". It lists three paid plans: Start at $69 a month, or $56 a month billed annually, with 20 execution hours, 5 slots, 500 email credits and 10,000 AI credits; Grow at $159 a month, or $128 annually, with 80 hours, 15 slots, 2,500 email credits and 30,000 AI credits; and Scale at $439 a month, or $352 annually, with 300 hours, 50 slots, 10,000 email credits and 90,000 AI credits (pricing explainer). Open the pricing page before you decide; the explainer itself says to.
Three rules on that page change the real cost. Each email discovery attempt uses one credit even when no email is found. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over. Execution hours and slots are not credits, so there is no mid-cycle top-up; the explainer mentions optional add-on credit packs without pricing them (pricing explainer). If a scraping run eats your hours in week two, the rest of the month waits.
Intentsly: see the pricing page. There is a 7-day free trial, setup is self-serve with no sales call, and you can cancel anytime.
The useful comparison is cost per booked meeting, not per month. PhantomBuster's subscription is the smaller part of its cost; the larger part is the person who builds the chains, watches the hours, answers the replies and keeps the session cookie fresh. Price that person's time at their hourly rate before you compare plans.
Can you use both?
On the same LinkedIn account, no. Both send from your profile and LinkedIn counts every action against one set of limits whichever tool took it. Intentsly's 30-a-day caps are per account for that reason, and PhantomBuster's own advice is to set daily caps per account and stay well under the ranges it publishes (safe limits post). Two tools on one profile means neither knows the real total.
On different jobs, yes. PhantomBuster for extraction: Sales Navigator searches, event guests, group members, Google Maps, anything outside LinkedIn, landing in Google Sheets or your CRM. Intentsly for the LinkedIn conversation: signals, scoring and the AI SDR from your own profile. Both connect to HubSpot, so the CRM stays the single record. Keep PhantomBuster's LinkedIn sending automations off on the account Intentsly uses.
How do you switch from PhantomBuster to Intentsly?
PhantomBuster's results export to CSV and Google Sheets without a cap on paid plans, and HubSpot sync is two-way (integrations post, pricing explainer). Before you cancel, pull out:
- Every result file you still want, as CSV or to Google Sheets, since the free tier caps exports at 10 rows once you downgrade.
- The inputs that produced replies: which competitor posts, which searches, which events and groups. These are your signal definitions.
- The AI-drafted first lines that got answers, for reference.
- Your HubSpot property mapping, so the same fields keep filling.
- Anyone mid-conversation in your LinkedIn inbox, so nobody goes cold while you move.
Intentsly finds people from live signals rather than from an imported list, so item 2 carries over, not the result files. Set up the same competitors, keywords and hashtags as LinkedIn signals, connect the same HubSpot, and the scoring runs against the profile you already know works. Revoke PhantomBuster's session from LinkedIn's security settings once you have stopped its automations, as PhantomBuster's own safety post describes (safety post). The seven-step signal-based outbound setup is the order to do it in.
Which should you pick?
If you prospect on Google Maps, Instagram, X or Facebook, export Sales Navigator searches, want to build your own chains, run more than two LinkedIn accounts, need Google Sheets, Salesforce or Pipedrive, or want a free tier: PhantomBuster. If your buyers are on LinkedIn, you run one or two profiles, and you want the reply answered and the meeting booked without you in the inbox: Intentsly.
Still unsure? The shortest test is to see your own buyers. Open /try-ai, which shows matching people engaging on LinkedIn right now, no account needed. If the list is thin, your buyers are not where Intentsly looks and PhantomBuster's wider sources are the better bet. If it is full, start the 7-day trial and let the AI SDR take the first conversations. Other pairings are on the compare index.
FAQ
Does PhantomBuster reply to leads automatically?
Not on the pages opened today. PhantomBuster's own HeyReach comparison says you can connect n8n or Zapier to monitor the inbox and pause a sequence when someone replies, or filter replied contacts out of your next input list by hand (PhantomBuster vs HeyReach). Intentsly's AI SDR continues the LinkedIn conversation itself and sends your calendar link when the lead is ready to book.
Does Intentsly scrape LinkedIn like PhantomBuster?
No. Intentsly monitors a fixed set of LinkedIn signals, post engagement, keyword posts, competitor page followers and engagers and hashtag engagement, scores the people and hands them to the AI SDR. It does not export Sales Navigator searches, event guests or group members, and it does not touch Google Maps, Instagram, X or Facebook. For those jobs PhantomBuster is the tool of the two.
How does PhantomBuster pricing work?
Three meters: execution hours, automation slots and monthly credits for email, AI and URL finding. Its own explainer, as of July 2026, lists Start at $69 a month, Grow at $159 and Scale at $439, with annual discounts, a free plan limited to 30 minutes a month, and a 14-day trial (pricing explainer). Intentsly's plans are on its pricing page.
Is PhantomBuster safe for my LinkedIn account?
PhantomBuster's own safety post says third-party LinkedIn automation is not risk-free or fully compliant with LinkedIn's terms, that it runs on your session cookie, and that you should set business-hours schedules, randomized delays and daily hard limits (safety post). Intentsly states its ceiling instead: 30 messages and 30 connection requests per account per day, with 15 recommended. Running both on one profile is the riskiest option.
Can I export my data from PhantomBuster?
Yes. Results export to CSV or Google Sheets, unlimited on paid plans and capped at 10 rows on the free plan and trial, and HubSpot sync is two-way (pricing explainer). Export your result files and note which posts, searches and events produced replies; those inputs become your signal definitions in Intentsly, which finds people from live engagement rather than an imported list.
How many LinkedIn accounts can each tool run?
Intentsly supports up to two LinkedIn sender accounts per workspace, each capped at 30 messages and 30 connection requests a day with 15 recommended. PhantomBuster's prospecting guide says a workspace can hold up to 100 LinkedIn accounts and rotate up to four in one running automation, with daily caps you set yourself (prospecting guide).
