Life After Trigify: The Signal-Based Selling Playbook

Trigify's signal feed stopped on 22 October 2026. This playbook rebuilds the method rather than the tool: six plays mapped to where each signal lives now, two message templates for the people in your exported lists, a response-window rule and a 14-day restart plan.

Trigify closed for most customers at 11:59pm BST on 22 October 2026, so the signal feed many teams sold from is gone. Life after Trigify is not a search for one replacement tool. It is a signal-based selling playbook: six plays, each mapping a job Trigify did to where that signal lives now, who should act on it and how fast. This page gives you the plays table, two message templates for the people already in your exported lists, and a 14-day restart plan.

If you want a tool-by-tool comparison instead, the Trigify alternatives comparison sorts the options by the job you used Trigify for, and the Trigify shutdown explainer covers dates, data and invoices. This article is the method. Every Trigify fact below comes from Trigify's announcement and its help centre, both read on 23 October 2026.

What ended on 22 October 2026, and what you still own

Per the announcement, integrations, API access, monitoring and signal collection stopped when account access ended. Accounts were not migrated to HubSpot. Customer data is retained or deleted according to Trigify's contractual, privacy and legal obligations, and HubSpot does not use it. Subscriptions do not renew, and the final invoice, credits or refunds are confirmed to each customer directly; the public page states no refund policy, so do not assume one.

What you still own matters more than what stopped. You have your ideal customer profile, the list of competitors and industry leaders you tracked, your keyword lists with their AND and NOT terms, the messages that worked, and whatever you exported: a list of people who liked or commented on tracked content in the weeks before the shutdown. That last file is the most perishable asset you have. The plays below start with it.

The team built something people liked, and the method behind it survives the product. The rest of this page is that method, rewritten for a team that has to run it without the feed.

The signal-based selling playbook for life after Trigify, in one table

A play is a signal plus an action: who you watch, what counts as a signal, what you send and how fast. Trigify's help docs described its jobs as Social Signals on tracked profiles and companies (with signal types such as "Liked competitor content", "Commented on tracked content", "Posted about tracked topic", "Changed role" and "Company started hiring for relevant roles"), Listening searches with AND and NOT terms across sources that, depending on the workspace, included "Business Network posts", X, Reddit, YouTube, podcasts and Hacker News, and workflow nodes to HubSpot, Attio, Salesforce, Airtable and, through an HTTP Request node, Clay.

Here is each of those jobs as a play, with where the signal lives now.

    6. Keyword mentions on Reddit, X, Hacker News, YouTubeListening searches on non-LinkedIn sourcesTools: Octolens, Clay social listening (Reddit, YouTube). Not IntentslySame day on Reddit and X

Two honest notes on the table. Intentsly covers plays 2, 3 and 4 and none of 5 and 6: it watches LinkedIn only, so job changes, hiring and anything on Reddit, X, Hacker News or YouTube need another tool. And the "respond within" column is our working rule, not a measured benchmark; the reasoning is in the plan further down.

Play 1: Re-engage the people in your exported Trigify list

Start with the export, because every day it loses value. Sort it by signal date, newest first, and by signal type. Comments outrank likes, and a comment on a competitor's post outranks a comment on a leader's post, because the first person has told you which vendor they are thinking about.

Then message the newest rows first, within the sending caps your LinkedIn account can take. Intentsly's own limit is 30 messages and 30 connection requests per account per day, with 15 recommended, and that is a sensible cap for manual sending too. Two templates follow. Both are examples to adapt, not scripts to paste as they are, and both name the signal in the first line because that is what makes the message relevant rather than cold. Gartner's survey of 632 B2B buyers, published in June 2025 found that 73% actively avoid suppliers who send irrelevant outreach, which is the whole case for leading with the signal.

Template A, for someone who commented on a competitor's post (example):

Hi [first name], saw your comment under [competitor]'s post about [topic] a few days ago. You raised [the point they made]. We work with [type of company] on exactly that, and I have a two-minute summary of how three of them handled it. Want me to send it over?

Template B, for someone who posted about a tracked topic or pain (example):

Hi [first name], your post on [topic] matched something we see a lot with [type of company]: [the pain in their words]. No pitch, but if useful I can share the checklist we use to fix it in a week. Would that help?

Replace the bracketed parts from the exported row and the post itself. If the signal is older than three days by the time you reach it, drop the "a few days ago" reference and open with the topic only.

Play 2: Rebuild the competitor and leader engagement feed

This was Trigify's core job for most sales teams, and it is the one where the manual version is slowest: open each tracked post, open the reactions list, open the comments, check each person against your profile, log the good ones. It works for one or two competitors and a handful of leaders. It does not scale past that.

The tools split by how much they do for you. PhantomBuster's post commenter and liker scraper monitors one source per workflow (a company page, a profile, a single post or a post search), processes up to 8 posts a day, runs once daily and needs a connected LinkedIn account; it gives you the raw list and leaves the qualifying and messaging to you, which is the better choice if you already run your own enrichment and sequencing. Teamfluence's post-engager campaign tracks a post by URL and adds the engaged users to a connection campaign; its help page does not say whether competitor posts can be tracked, so check that before you commit. If you would rather not open each post by hand, Intentsly's LinkedIn signals watch the competitor and leader posts you list, score every engager against your ideal customer profile and hand the top ones to an AI SDR that sends the LinkedIn message for you, within the 30-a-day cap.

The fuller comparison for this play is in the Trigify replacement for LinkedIn engagement tracking article. Whichever you choose, keep the manual check for a week: open ten of the engagers the tool surfaces and confirm they match the people you would have picked yourself.

Play 3: Turn your Listening searches into LinkedIn keyword plays

Your Trigify Listening searches were keywords plus AND and NOT terms, run at a frequency the docs call "Bi-Daily" by default. On LinkedIn by hand, the equivalent is the post search: put the phrase in quotes, switch to Posts, sort by Latest, and apply your NOT terms by eye as you scan. That is fine for three or four phrases checked each morning. It fails at twenty.

The rewrite table from Trigify's syntax to LinkedIn keyword posts is in the migration guide, so this page only adds the decision rule: a Listening search carries over to a LinkedIn keyword play if the people who post the phrase are the people who buy. "Looking for a payroll provider" posted by a founder does. "Payroll" mentioned in a job ad does not. Clay's social listening covers keywords on LinkedIn, Reddit and YouTube if you want the search inside a workflow tool; Intentsly's keyword posts cover LinkedIn only, in English, Romanian, German and Dutch.

Play 4: Competitor page followers and hashtag engagers

This is the slowest-burning signal in the set: following a competitor's page or reacting to a hashtag says someone is in the market, not that they are buying this month. Treat it as a list to warm, not a list to pitch. By hand, the hashtag feed and the competitor page's recent posts are enough for a weekly pass. With a tool, this is one of the four LinkedIn signal types Intentsly runs, scored against the same profile as the others.

The message for this play is a connection request with a one-line reason, not a sales message. Save the templates above for plays 1 to 3.

Play 5: Job changes and hiring, the signals this playbook does not replace with Intentsly

Trigify's Social Signals included "Changed role", "Changed company", "Became hiring or posted a job ad" and "Company started hiring for relevant roles". These are real signals, and they are frequent: LinkedIn's own statistics page says 93 people add a new role to their profile every minute. Intentsly does not track them, so say so to your team before anyone assumes the feed covers everything it used to.

Your options are a Sales Navigator seat, where lead alerts tell you when a saved lead has an update "like a job or role change", or Clay's job-change, promotion and new-hire signals, which trigger automations when people change jobs or get promoted, or when companies make new hires. Sales Navigator is the better choice for a small team that saves a few hundred leads and works alerts by hand. Clay is the better choice if the alert has to land in a CRM or a sequence without a person in the middle, or if you also need the Attio, Salesforce or Airtable destinations your Trigify workflows used, which Intentsly does not offer (HubSpot is its only CRM integration).

Play 6: Keyword mentions outside LinkedIn

If your Listening searches ran on Reddit, X, Hacker News or YouTube, nothing on LinkedIn replaces them and neither does Intentsly. Octolens monitors X, Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, Hacker News, GitHub, DEV, Stack Overflow and more, scores each mention for relevance with your company context and sends alerts to Slack or email; its own page says it does not scrape profiles or build contact lists, so it is a listening tool, not a lead list. Clay's social listening covers Reddit and YouTube keywords inside a workflow. The Trigify alternative for social listening article compares these in more depth.

    The 14-day restart plan

Signal-based selling fails in the same way after a tool change as before one: too many plays, nobody owning the response, and no record of what came of each signal. The plan below keeps three plays, one owner and one log. The by-hand version of that log, with the daily routine, is in how to set up signal-based outbound.

    1. Day 1. Pick three plays from the table, no more. For most Trigify customers that is plays 1, 2 and 3. Write the profile each signal must match in one line: role, company size, country, language.
    2. Day 2. Clean the export. Keep rows with a comment or a reaction on competitor or tracked-person content from the last 30 days that match the profile. Archive the rest; they are not lost, just cold.
    3. Days 3 to 7. Message the cleaned list, newest signal first, at most 15 a day per LinkedIn account. Log every send, every reply and every meeting in one sheet with the signal type in its own column.
    4. Days 4 to 5. In parallel, set up play 2 with whichever option you chose, and run the ten-engager check against your own judgement.
    5. Days 6 to 8. Rebuild play 3: the four or five keyword phrases that produced real conversations in Trigify, not the whole list.
    6. Days 9 to 13. Run all three plays at the daily cap. Keep response windows: comments the same day, likes within three days, keyword posts the same day.
    7. Day 14. Read the log by signal type. Keep the two signal types that produced replies, drop the third, and only then add a fourth play.

On response windows: the ranking pages all say "act fast" without a number. Our rule comes from how the signals decay. A comment is a conversation in progress, so it has a day. A like is a nod, so it has three. A job change is a 90-day settling-in period, so it has a week. None of this is a measured benchmark; it is the rule we run, and your log will tell you by day 14 whether it holds for your market.

For scale, this is the set-up we ran on ourselves at launch: our own LinkedIn signals and AI SDR, aimed at founders posting about cold outreach burnout, with the conversational AI handling replies. That one campaign produced 14 qualified demos in 14 days with zero manual outreach and a reply rate 4x our previous cold campaigns, and most of the leads came from signals caught in real time. One campaign, our own product, so read it as a ceiling to aim at rather than a promise. Across Intentsly customers in October 2026, an account typically books 2 to 4 meetings a week from AI SDR LinkedIn outreach; typical, not guaranteed.

Where this playbook is the wrong fit

Be honest with yourself on day 1, because the wrong tool costs you the 14 days. If most of your Trigify value came from job-change and hiring signals, build around Sales Navigator or Clay and skip Intentsly. If it came from Reddit, X or Hacker News listening, build around Octolens or Clay. If your workflows ended in Attio, Salesforce or Airtable, Clay keeps those destinations and Intentsly does not. If you run more than two LinkedIn sender accounts, Intentsly's two-account limit is a real constraint. And if your messaging runs in a language other than English, Romanian, German or Dutch, the AI SDR will not write it.

For the LinkedIn engagement and keyword jobs, with HubSpot as the CRM and a small team that wants the messaging done for it, Intentsly is the direct replacement; the Trigify vs Intentsly comparison lists the differences signal by signal.

A note for customers still on a longer notice period

If your contract gave you a later end date, the announcement says you receive it directly from Trigify. Use the time to export with the options already in the product, push whatever is still flowing to HubSpot, Attio, Salesforce or Airtable through the native workflow nodes (or to Clay through the HTTP Request node), and keep a copy of your keyword lists with their AND and NOT terms, because those do not come out in a signals export. The announcement gives hugo@trigify.io for export help. Then run the plan above alongside the old feed until it stops.

    What to do next

Pick your three plays and clean the export today, 23 October 2026, because the rows in it are already a day colder than they were. If you want the signals ranked before you choose, the free Buying Signal Playbook lists the 12 buying signals worth chasing and the 8 to ignore, with a LinkedIn trigger and a script for each. And if you would rather see who is engaging with your competitors right now than read about it, try the AI shows matching buyers without an account.

    FAQ

Is Trigify still working after 22 October 2026?

No, not for standard customers. Trigify's announcement says access ended at 11:59pm BST on 22 October 2026, and that integrations, API access, monitoring and signal collection stopped with it. Customers with different contractual notice periods were given their own end dates directly, so if your account still opens, that is why, and it will not last.

Did Trigify accounts move to HubSpot?

No. The Trigify team joined HubSpot, but the announcement states that accounts are not migrated, that customer data is retained or deleted according to Trigify's contractual, privacy and legal obligations, and that HubSpot does not use it. If you want your tracked lists and signals anywhere else, the export you made before the end date is the only copy.

What is signal-based selling in one sentence?

Signal-based selling means you contact someone because of something they just did (commented on a competitor's post, posted about a problem, changed jobs) and you say so in the first line, instead of working a static list in alphabetical order. The play is the signal plus the action plus the response window, and the log is how you learn which signals pay.

Can I rebuild Trigify's Listening searches on LinkedIn alone?

Only the LinkedIn part. A Listening search that ran on "Business Network posts" becomes a LinkedIn keyword play, by hand through post search or with a tool such as Intentsly or Clay. Searches that ran on Reddit, X, YouTube, podcasts or Hacker News need a listening tool that covers those sources, such as Octolens, or Clay for Reddit and YouTube.

Which Trigify signals does Intentsly not cover?

Job changes, company changes, hiring and job-ad signals, and every source other than LinkedIn. Intentsly runs four LinkedIn signal types: engagement on competitor and leader posts, keyword posts, competitor page followers and hashtag engagement. It integrates with HubSpot only, supports up to two LinkedIn sender accounts, and writes in English, Romanian, German and Dutch.

How many LinkedIn messages a day is safe?

Intentsly caps each connected account at 30 messages and 30 connection requests a day and recommends 15, and that is a reasonable ceiling for manual sending as well. Spread the exported list over days rather than clearing it in one afternoon; the log will show whether the newest rows reply better, which is the usual pattern.
